JELENIA GÓRA BRANCH LOCAL GOVERNMENT

The Student Government of the Wrocław Branch of the UE in Jelenia Góra is a legally mandated representation of all students at the Branch, working to protect their rights and interests and to contribute to academic life. The Student Government is a place where student affairs have a real voice: from day-to-day organizational issues, through consulting on university solutions, to initiating events and projects that develop the student community.

AREAS OF OPERATION

Student affairs and cooperation with the Branch authorities The Student Government acts as a student representative
in matters relating to academic life, including the quality of education and the organisation of studies.

In this area the following are important:
• consultations and opinions on student matters,
• reporting problems and proposing solutions,
• improving the flow of information between students and the administration and teaching units,
• supporting initiatives that improve the comfort of studying.

Projects and events
We organize initiatives that integrate the student community, increase its activity and develop competences.
These may include:

• induction events for new students,
• integration and environmental initiatives,
• development projects (workshops, thematic meetings),
• activities supporting the activities of scientific circles and grassroots initiatives.

Every event is a process: idea → plan → formalities → promotion → implementation → settlement and summary.
Thanks to thematic committees, we are responsible for this process in a structured manner.

Promotion and communication
An important part of our work is clear information: what is happening, why we are doing it
and how you can join.

This area includes:
• preparing and publishing information for students,
• event promotion,
• building consistent message identification
and materials,

• documenting activities (reports, summaries, effects).

External contacts and partnerships
Collaboration with the external environment allows us to expand our offerings to students and implement initiatives with greater reach.

This includes:
• establishing contacts with institutions
and organizations,
• searching for project partners,
• cooperation with other student communities,
• activities supporting the Branch's presence in the local space.

Finance and administration
Student projects require order
in documents and budget.

This area includes:
• planning activity budgets,
• keeping track of formalities and schedules,
• settlements and project documentation,
• organizational support for committees and events.

How can you cooperate with the Local Government?
The student government is open to student initiatives. In practice, cooperation may take the form of:
• reporting a problem or proposing improvements (organization of studies, communication, events),
• joining activities on a specific project,
• submitting the idea for the event and implementing it together with the committees,
• promotional or organizational support for student initiatives.

What is all this for?

The aim of the Self-Government is not to “organize for the sake of organizing”, but to create conditions in which:

• students have representation and a real communication channel,

• student initiatives have organizational support,

• the academic life of the Branch is active and coherent,

• projects are carried out reliably, with planning, promotion and settlement.
